WELCOME
Wings World Wide – The Air Medical Foundation's
high level program for a disaster and humanitarian airline accommodates
“first response” as well as the delivery of humanitarian
aid and the performance of medical service missions. This website includes
an assessment of the demand for this type of organization and its projected
capacity to work independently or in partnership with charitable organizations
and government agencies, in supporting domestic or international disasters
and humanitarian relief missions.
Wings
World Wide - The Air Medical Foundation,
a 501 (c) (3), not-for-profit charitable foundation, is designed for
the timely delivery of humanitarian aid (personnel, equipment and supplies)
during domestic and international disasters. Further, Wings can provide
for, and furnish support for, pre-planned humanitarian, medical and
infrastructure assistance missions. Lastly, Wings can support the above
scenarios with scheduled and non-scheduled logistical and personnel
re-supply. Wings’ unique mobility comes from its use of an integrated
fleet of wide body aircraft. In the future, Wings will enhance its mobility
with the addition of intermediate range aircraft, short range (unimproved
field capability) aircraft, helicopters, wheeled and tracked vehicles,
ground vehicles and a marine fleet of hovercraft, and light weight marine
“Utility Landing Craft”. This self-sustaining organization
can quickly respond to humanitarian incidents with the correct aircraft,
configured with the appropriate mixture of personnel, equipment, supplies
and ground and/or marine vehicles. This rapid response capability would
greatly enhance the delivery and continued support of medical, surgical,
rescue and infrastructure teams in saving lives and reducing suffering.
Wings has a domestic response capability in as little as three hours
providing the ability to insert NGOs, and even USAR and NDMS teams,
within 10 hours of deployment. This rapid response time frame allows
for other NGOs and governments to respond as follow-on relief, individually
or in concert. Wings can medically support up to 400 patients per day
with independent humanitarian service missions, or by replacing or supplementing
existing facilities’ critical services (emergency room, trauma
room, critical care and surgical stabilization) in the event of a disaster
crisis situation.
Internationally,
Wings can insert medical or disaster relief to almost any point on the
globe within 24 hours. Wings can accommodate up to 10,000 disaster victims
with food, water and shelter for up to three days. This immediate support
allows for other NGOs, government agencies and foreign governments to
respond in a follow-on roll with appropriate aid packages. This immediate
and sustained response in the international arena, during disaster situations,
expands the ever increasing value of Wings World Wide – The Air
Medical Foundation.
Wings can
also provide training resources in conjunction with government, NGO
and humanitarian agencies. Real time training is instrumental in establishing
procedures that will need to be refined before being required for an
actual disaster response.
These capabilities and capacities of Wings World Wide – The Air
Medical Foundation clearly defines a unique response ability not currently
available in domestic and international disasters. Wings is a prime
resource for pre-planned medical and humanitarian service missions,
as-well-as immediate first response and disaster relief scenarios.
Wings received
initial support from The Boeing Corporation, which has donated the first
two Boeing 747 aircraft. We solicit your support in joining with Boeing
and Wings in achieving this goal of providing for a “first response”
capability and a humanitarian airline.
We hope,
after your review of this website, which demonstrates Wings’ capabilities,
you will be prompted you to meet with us at your earliest possible convenience
to discuss a partnership that can be created from your organizations
talents and Wings’ supportive capabilities. Investigate the opportunities
for you to give of yourself in humanitarian situations.
